Orphan Jane is the musical hybrid of a very sad clown and a labradoodle. Circa 1862.

Orphan Jane is circus tents and gypsies, traditional blues and vaudeville, a dear friend of whom you're just a little afraid. Like a drink cut with sharp mandolins, wheezing accordions and thrilling falsettos, chased by the driving lines of a standup bass. A vocalist equal parts Lotte Lenya and the Little Mermaid with a band of hooligans growling close behind. Orphan Jane is the classic American folk tradition made new again.

Orphan Jane was formed in late 2011 by Dave Zydallis

(guitar, mandolin, vocals), Bob Desjardins (double bass),

Tim Cluff (accordion, vocals),

and Jessica Underwood (lead vocals, percussion).

We've released two full-length albums, singles, and

are workshopping a stage production.

While honing our unique sound on the likes of

Kurt Weill, Tom Waits, Leonard Cohen and Bob Dylan,

Dave, Bob and Tim (each a songwriters in their own right)

quickly began bringing original songs into our repertoire.

Orphan Jane has been churning out our unique brand of

theatrical Gypsy/Americana music ever since.

We've performed at Irving Plaza, WNYC's Battle of the Boroughs at the Greene Space (finalists), Forest Hills Tennis Stadium, The Knitting Factory, Feinsteins/54 Below, The Bitter End, O+ Festival, CMJ Festival, Mercury Lounge, Arlene's Grocery, Pianos, our favorite little venue in Queens, LIC Bar, and more!
